So the very next day I met up with this mutual friend. And sure enough he was a really friendly, warm and engaging guy.
And of course, I went there aiming to keep a very very keen eye on the bets this guy made.
But you see this was the thing, he wasn’t making any bets.
In fact, in the first four races he didn’t back a single horse.
Confused, I had to ask him…
“So forgive me for being rude, but Tony told me that you make a full-time income from betting… but, correct me if I’m wrong, you haven’t placed a bet yet?”
Little did I know that Stuart’s response would be somewhat life-changing.
Stuart explained that as a mad keen race enthusiast he was a part of countless online forums, what’s app groups, telegram groups… many of which would be dedicated to race meets at individual courses.
Some years ago Stuart worked out that for every meet there would ALMOST ALWAYS BE ONE HORSE that would be talked about constantly in all of the groups he was a part of. And he’d found that in well over 80% of races that ONE HORSE about which so much buzz was created would win.
This had led Stuart to devise his very own strategy, which he calls the ‘one horse only’ strategy. The concept behind it is very simple. Stuart only bets on ONE HORSE PER MEETING… the one horse that is creating the most buzz in the many groups and forums that he is a part of.
So that day Stuart had his money on just one horse at Chester. He also had money on just one horse at 3 other meetings going on that same day. |
